Mission
The Morrisburg & District Skating Club is committed to protecting the privacy of our members.
Policy
Legislation known as the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act requires that documents and formalization of policies and
procedures be adopted by all businesses collecting private information. The Board of Directors, Coaches, Committee Chairs, and Committee members will outline our policies and assure members of
the Morrisburg & District Skating Club of our commitment to maintaining the privacy and security of information.
Procedures

To have each member of the Morrisburg & District Skating Club, or his/her legal guardian, sign a consent form. (may be signed electronically)

Each Board Member, Coach, Committee Chair, and Committee member will sign the “Privacy & Procedure Policy” as acknowledgment of the policy. The Secretary
will keep this on file.

All collection of information is to be kept in a discrete place and personal information will only be used where required for MDSC and Skate Canada business.
This information may also be distributed to Board of Directors and Committee Chairs of the Morrisburg & District Skating Club. Any personal Information gathered through Uplifter may be
shared with Skate Ontario or Skate Canada when requested. Information will not be shared with other parties, such as skating schools.

Email is our main form of communication to all members. Members will need to provide a current email address to the Morrisburg & District Skating Club for
communication purposes. All mass emails will be distributed by “Blind Copies” to protect individual’s privacy. When forwarding emails, previous email addresses included in the document
will be deleted.

The Board of Directors, Coaches, Committee Chair, and Committee member that distributes mass emails will ensure that their computer is protected with Antivirus
Scanning software.

The Morrisburg & District Skating Club shall shred forms and documentation containing personal information when they are no longer required.
DISCLAIMER: Printed hard copies of controlled documents are considered uncontrolled. All
personnel using hard copies for ease of reference are required to determine the up-to-date status of any hard copy document to ensure it matches the current electronic
version.
